A laboratory that enables the preparation of special metallic materials, including refining processes. Specific annealing processes can be carried out in different atmospheres, including hydrogenation, as well as directed solidification and refining processes by the Bridgman method or the hanging zone method.

Instrumentation equipment:

  • Clasic dual zone crystallization furnace - directional crystallization by the Brigman method
  • Electron beam furnace for metal refining and single crystal preparation Delong Instruments - preparation of single crystals, high purity materials and processing of high melt metals (W, Mo, Ta, Nb) at max. temperatures of 3500 °C
  • VacuumTech high-temperature vacuum annealing furnace for sample annealing - high-temperature annealing of samples in vacuum or inert atmosphere up to max. temperatures of 2200 °C.
  • Linn HT1800 annealing and hydrogen furnace - heat treatment up to a maximum temperature of 1750 °C in a controlled Ar atmosphere or in hydrogen gas, hydrogenation of metallic materials up to a maximum temperature of 1100 °C.
