Title
Aditivní výroba NiTi slitiny pro aplikace v ortopedii a traumatologii
Code
NU23-08-00043
Summary
The aim of the project is to develop, manufacture and laboratory test a new generation of osteosynthesis implants using a NiTi-based memory alloy in a biocompatible composition according to ASTM F2063 based on interdisciplinary research. The fundamental innovation is the implementation of 4D printing principles into the implant design as follows: using additive manufacturing to prepare a shape-complex metal implant that is capable of independent shape change after implantation. The final goal is to develop an implant that facilitates the surgery of orthopaedic and trauma patients, using an original approach to the production of an alloy with shape memory and/or superelasticity properties. To address the problem of mechanical incompatibility between the implant and bone, the application of a NiTi alloy will exploit its stiffness comparable to bone in combination with both superelasticity and a rigid active primary fixation given by shape memory. The developed implants will contribute to natural healing, significantly reduce recovery time and limit complications, especially in complex trauma.
