Wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry can measure the content of most elements from Na to U in solid and powder samples of various raw materials, rocks, ores, geological and waste materials. The optimum sample quantity for analysis is about 10-12 g (depending on the matrix and the desired analysis). In most cases, this analysis will result in the degradation of the sample being analysed. The ARL PERFORM'X X-ray fluorescence spectrometer is equipped with an Rh X-ray tube, 2 detectors, 8 measuring crystals, 4 optional collimators and a mapping function. The X-ray fluorescence analysis laboratory also includes sample preparation equipment: a Vulcan melter, a Retsch MM400 mill and a Vaneox 25t hydraulic press.
