Lukas Peter, Vice-Dean of the FMST, participated in the high-level European conference “AI for Health and Care in Europe”, held on 19 November 2025 and co-organized by WHO/Europe and the Government of Malta.
The conference focused on the rapidly growing role of artificial intelligence in healthcare and on how health systems across the WHO European Region must respond to this development. Key attention was given to the safety and reliability of AI tools, issues of legal responsibility and ethics, the varying levels of preparedness among individual countries, and the practical use of AI in diagnostics and patient communication. Experts discussed how to ensure that the expansion of AI benefits healthcare while avoiding risks associated with insufficient regulation or patient protection.
As a panelist in the session “Predict, Prevent, Protect: AI for People-Centered Primary Health Care” he addressed:
- the current state of artificial intelligence use in Czech primary health care,
- practical possibilities for GPs to adopt AI tools in daily practice,
- the balance between technological innovation and patient privacy,
- and the challenges of sustainable implementation of innovations in health systems.
The event brought together ministers, policymakers, and experts from across Europe to explore responsible, real-world applications of hashtag#AI in public health.
We are proud that a representative of FMT could present perspective of Ministerstvo zdravotnictví České republiky and contribute to the international dialogue on the future of health care in the digital era.
