Potenciál fotoaktivních nanočástic g-C3N4 k multifunkční ochraně stavebního kamene

Summary
The project focuses on the potential of g-C3N4 (gCN) for use in multifunctional protection of building stone. gCN is a robust, new-generation photocatalyst with high photoactivity under visible light, high chemical and thermal stability, non-toxicity, and environmental safety. Thanks to these parameters, gCN is being applied in a number of rapidly developing ecological fields, such as solar energy conversion or pollutant removal from air and water. The possibilities of using nano-gCN as a component of protective layers on the surface of stone objects have not yet been explored, though the attractive properties of gCN have the potential to eliminate disadvantages of commonly used nanomaterials. In the project, the impact of gCN on the hydrophobic, self-cleaning, and biocidal properties of polymeric protective coatings on the building stone will be described. The influence of the preparation methods of gCN and its suspensions on the properties of protective coating will be evaluated. The long-term efficiency and stability of the coatings under atmospheric conditions will be verified.
