The Department’s International Cooperation

Since 2000 the Department of Quality Management has participated in four projects of the Leonardo da Vinci programme, in one project of the sixth EU framework programme and in one project funded by the Visegrad grants. Within the Erasmus programme, the department’s teachers completed a series of lecture visits to foreign universities. There have been 11 such visits to Spanish, Swedish and Polish universities in the last ten years.

Students of the study programmes guaranteed by the department also take the opportunity to study at foreign universities within the Erasmus programme. To give an example, based on the department’s cooperation with the Swedish Linköping University, since 2005 sixteen students (including doctoral students) have undertaken a study visit there. The department also organizes lectures presented by foreign experts for students.

Students from abroad, who visit VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava within Erasmus programme, are provided with instruction of many subjects in English by the department. The provided subjects draw a lot of interest – in the academic year 2017/2018, for instance, 25 foreign students passed the subject Quality Planning I. In the years 2017 and 2018 the department organized an international summer school for foreign students, titled New Approaches to Quality Management.
