About study programme
The student is acquainted with the theoretical physicochemical principles of processes occurring both in plants used in production technologies and technologies for environmental protection. Applying graduates is universal because the science and technology base of their education enables them to solve issues related to research, design, management, optimization of technological processes, especially in the chemical, food and environmental fields. The acquired knowledge creates good conditions for graduates to apply on the domestic and international labor market.
Graduate's employment
The graduate has the possibility of applying in the process (chemical, metallurgical, processing, food, etc.) industries in production, research and development positions, analytical laboratories as a separate chemist-analyst or in leading positions in these laboratories or as an expert for protection of the environment in chemical and other industrial enterprises. Furthermore, in companies and institutions engaged in consultancy, design and research activities in the field of the environment or in the government administration, environmental departments of municipal authorities. It can also find job in related fields of science, research and education.
Study aims
Specialization Chemical Engineering develops the theoretical bases of process engineering in the form of the study of momentum, mass and heat transfer, and the study of limitations and the operation of individual devices in industry. This knowledge is then combined in reactor engineering. An integral part is also the modeling of chemical-technological processes and equipment both in industrial production and in technologies for reducing pollutants released into the environment.
Graduate's knowledge
Graduate of specialization Chemical Engineering has a deep knowledge of chemical and process technologies, knows the nature of the processes taking place in technological facilities.
Graduate's skills
Graduate of the specialization Chemical Engineering controls chemical-engineering methods of modeling and calculations of technological processes; is able to apply physical, chemical and physico-chemical knowledge in the design of processes and equipment and in assessing processes in technological practice.
Graduate's general competence
Graduate of the specialization Chemical Engineering will be able to assess the significance of individual parts of process technologies to the behavior of complex systems.
