About study programme
The Environmental Engineering specialization of the study program will introduce students to the problems of environmental pollution and its components, including the possibilities of solving problems and preventive strategies.
The acquired knowledge is based on current scientific knowledge and methods. Students can develop their theoretical and practical skills independently, have the opportunity to use top equipment, engage in research teams, participate in solving interesting research projects, or complete part of their studies abroad. After completing their studies, they will be able to continue with this program in doctoral course.
Graduate's employment
The graduate has the possibility of applying in the process (chemical, metallurgical, processing, food, etc.) industries in production, research and development positions, analytical laboratories as a separate chemist-analyst or in leading positions in these laboratories or as an expert for protection of the environment in chemical and other industrial enterprises. Furthermore, in companies and institutions engaged in consultancy, design and research activities in the field of the environment or in the government administration, environmental departments of municipal authorities. It can also find job in related fields of science, research and education.
Study aims
Specialization Environmental Engineering is focused on acquiring knowledge about environmental chemistry, air, water and soil protection, waste management technologies, geoinformation technologies for environmental protection, and assessing the impact of industrial technologies on environmental components, including integrated prevention. In particular, chemical and chemical-technological aspects, as well as legal and administrative aspects related to this issue, are highlighted.
Graduate's knowledge
Graduate of Environmental Engineering specialization has a deep knowledge in environmental pollution and application of possible technical and legislative solutions leading to the improvement of the quality of the environment.
Graduate's skills
Graduate of Environmental Engineering is able to apply physical, chemical and physico-chemical knowledge in the design of environmental processes and equipment, and in the environmental assessment of industrial processes.
Graduate's general competence
Graduate of Environmental Engineering will qualify qualitatively and quantitatively to characterize the environmental impacts of industrial activities and assess their management capabilities (EIA, SEA, IPPC); can perform expert activities in the field of applied chemistry and environmental protection.
