At this week’s Czech Society for Quality awards ceremony, final theses by two graduates of the Department of Quality Management were also recognized. The František Egermayer Award—presented for the best student theses in the fields of quality, quality management systems, and related systems—was awarded to:

• in the Master’s Thesis category: Ing. Marie Palátová for the thesis titled *Setting Up the Technical Cleanliness Measurement Process for Electronic Components* (supervisor: Ing. Mgr. Petra Halfarová, Ph.D.),
• in the Doctoral Dissertation category: Ing. Eva Tylečková, Ph.D. for the dissertation titled *Development of Statistical Process Control Methodology for Industry 4.0* (supervisor: prof. Ing. Darja Noskievičová, CSc.

We congratulate both graduates on receiving the award!

On August 26, 2025, representatives from our department attended a meeting at MAIER CZ, which was also attended by representatives from the Secondary Industrial and Vocational School of Engineering in Prostějov; the meeting focused on launching a tripartite cooperation project among the participating parties. The project aims to expand vocational training opportunities for students, bridge the gap between classroom instruction and practical application, and strengthen a modern industry focus on quality management and control. Furthermore, the project seeks to raise awareness among secondary vocational school students about the field of quality management and the opportunities to study this discipline at VŠB-TUO. During the meeting, an initial framework for this tripartite cooperation was established, outlining plans for joint activities such as:

• lectures on quality management delivered by academic staff from the Department of Quality Management to students from the Prostějov Secondary Technical School of Industry and Mechanical Engineering,
• field trips to VŠB-TUO for students from the Prostějov Secondary Technical School of Industry and Mechanical Engineering,
• mini-projects for students from the Prostějov Secondary Technical School of Industry and Mechanical Engineering, carried out by the Department of Quality Management and the company MAIER CZ,
• establishment of a dedicated secondary school specialization—Mechanical Engineering: Quality Management and Control (23-41-M/01)—designed to enable graduates to continue their studies at VŠB-TUO in the Quality Management specialization within the Industrial Systems Management study program,
• and more.

The Department of Quality Management, together with MAIER CZ, also plans to reach out to other secondary schools in the Prostějov area.
