CRYTUR Award 2025: Outstanding Diploma Theses in Materials Science and an Honorable Mention for Jakub Toběrný from FMST

The 12th edition of the competition for the best diploma thesis in materials science has produced two winners. Ing. Monika Kotyková and Ing. Miroslav Coubal are graduates of the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering (FNSPE), Czech Technical University in Prague. For the first time, a representative of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava also ranked among the awardees.

The Moravian-Silesian Region, Black Cube and the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology of VŠB–TUO have signed a memorandum on the establishment of the first regional ESG data infrastructure in the Czech Republic. The Ostrava–Karviná tram line will serve as the pilot project.

The MATUR project has completed its first meeting with representatives from research teams.

The first meeting of the representatives of the MATUR project research teams, which received support from the Jan Amos Komenský Operational Programme in the Top Research Challenge, was hosted by VSB-TUO on Wednesday. Thanks to the support of 464 million crowns, almost 200 scientists will be dedicated to the development of new materials and technologies for sustainable development over the next five years.
